Tudor Prince Oysterdate 74033 - 1997
If the Tudor Prince Oysterdate reference 74033 looks familiar, it is because this model takes much of its inspiration from Rolex's iconic Datejust model. In the year 1946, Tudor Oyster watches were introduced as watches with a hand-winding movement. Most of them were housed in 34mm steel Oyster cases and featured a wide selection of dial variations. In the year 1952, the ''Oyster Prince'' was introduced. Prince signified the presence of an automatic movement and was Tudor's equivalent of the Rolex ''Osyter Perpetual''.
The Tudor Prince Oysterdate 74033 is based on Rolex's most famous model, the Datejust. Its 34mm case makes it perfect for collectors with refined tastes. When Tudor was launched in 1946, it was intended that the quality of the timepieces would equal that of Rolex. In order to achieve this goal, Tudor timepieces were fitted with Rolex cases, crowns, and until 1971, with Rolex bracelets.
This Tudor Prince Oysterdate reference 74033 dates from the year 1997. The watch is truly in wonderful condition and may be described as new and unworn. The case and lugs are unpolished, and the matching 6248 folded strap shows no stretch. The razor-sharp 18K yellow gold bezel provides a stunning sparkle. The reliable 2824-2 automatic movement has been serviced. The original sticker is also still present on the back case. This beautifully elegant 34mm Tudor 74033 comes with its Tudor box and 1-year warranty from 10 over 10.

Tudor
Rolex was founded in 1905 by the famous German businessman Hans Wilsdorf. In 1926 Rolex introduced its first waterproof watch, the famous Oyster. In the same year founder Hans Wilsdorf had another goal: he wanted to create a watch brand that was more accessible for a larger number of people, with the same quality and reliability as Rolex. Wilsdorf assigned Geneva-based dealer Philippe Hüther to create the Tudor trademark. Rolex used high quality in-house movements. Tudor had its movements manufactured elsewhere and used ETA movements which allowed Tudor to maintain its affordability. A major part of why Tudor was able to be successful in its early years was that it was able to use Rolex's waterproof Oyster case, allowing buyers access to Rolex's legendary durability at a more affordable price point.
