Rolex Datejust 16234 Silver/Champagne dial 1993/1994
After the introduction of the 160XX reference series in 1977, Rolex launched the 162XX reference series 11 years later in 1988, which continued until around 2006. The 3035 caliber was replaced by the 3135 caliber, further refining its performance. This caliber remained the longest-used movement by Rolex. Additionally, Rolex discontinued the use of plexiglass and equipped the 162XX Datejust series with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. In the late 1990s, Rolex ceased using tritium and started using superluminova on all dials from the year 2000.
Over the years, numerous dial variations have emerged for the Datejust. However, the stainless steel models of the 16234 series offered a relatively conventional selection of dial colors, such as the traditional white, black, rich blue, and as seen on this Datejust, the silver dial. But as they say, simplicity is timeless beauty!
This Rolex Datejust 16234 dates from the year 1993/1994. The watch is truly in great, almost as good as new condition! The case along with the white gold fluted bezel is razor sharp. Something that also makes us very happy is the silver dial. Together with the hands, it is evenly discoloured and shows a nice champagne glow. The elegant jubilee bracelet shows almost no stretch for its age. The movement has been fully serviced. This beautiful neo-vintage Rolex 16234 comes with its original papers which show the watch was sold in 1995, and 1-year mechanical warranty from 10 over 10.

Datejust
In the year 1945, the first Datejust was introduced to commemorate Rolex's 40th anniversary under the reference 4467. This was the first self-winding watch with a waterproof case that also displayed the date and automatically changed it at midnight. The Datejust was equipped with the fluted bezel and the renowned Jubilee bracelet, which was specially designed for the Datejust. The date was indicated at the 3 o'clock position. Ten years later, in 1955, the date window was fitted with a Cyclops lens, magnifying the date up to 2.5 times.
Most iconic Rolex models were produced as tool watches. However, the Datejust had no specific purpose. This model was meant to be a classic, reliable, and versatile watch suitable for any occasion in daily life.
