Rolex Datejust 16014 Silver Dial 1986

The Rolex Datejust 16014 is the successor to the Datejust 1601. The Rolex Datejust 16014 was produced from the 1970s into the 1980s. The upgraded 3035 movement with quick-set date function that was introduced in the 1970s makes this watch even more user-friendly because the date can be adjusted manually. The Datejust remains the quintessential watch with clean lines, versatile styling, impeccable Swiss craftsmanship, suitable for everyday life and any occasion.

This Datejust 16014 from 1986 is a real vintage classic. The silver dial shows a light sunburst and the lume on the dial is nicely discolored to a brown color together with the hands. The case and the white gold bezel are together in excellent condition. The strap shows a light stretch for its age. The watch has been fully checked bu our watchmaker and comes with a 12-month warranty.

Rolex Datejust

In the year 1945 the first Datejust was introduced under the 4467-reference, honouring the 40-year existence of Rolex. This was the first self-winding watch that featured both a watertight case, as well as a date-window that automatically changed the date after midnight. The Datejust was equipped with a serrated bezel and the famous Jubilee bracelet, which was designed especially for the Datejust. The date was indicated on the 3-hours position. 10 years later, in 1955, the datewindow was equipped with a cyclops lens that magnified the date up to two and a half times.

The most iconic models by Rolex were made to be used as toolwatches. The Datejust, however, did not serve a specific purpose. This model simply needed to be a classic, reliable, daily watch, suitable for every occasion in everyday life.
