Omega Speedmaster ''Speedy Tuesday Tribute To Alaska III''
There is one day of the week that every Omega Speedmaster fan looks forward to, every time again! And that is Tuesday, which for many Omega fans means ''#SpeedyTuesday''.
The Omega Speedmaster is known as thé chronograph watch because of the Apollo moon missions. To celebrate the hashtag #SpeedyTuesday which was invented in 2012, Omega introduced a special edition of its iconic chronograph watch in 2017. The Omega Speedmaster ''Speedy Tuesday'' was introduced at exactly 12:00 pm with a limited edition of 2012 pieces. Consequently, this was the very first Speedmaster that could be ordered online via Omega and was completely sold out within 4 hours! The Omega Speedy Tuesday was inspired by the ''Alaska Project III'' Speedmaster which was developed in 1978 especially for the Space Shuttles missions. This watch had a fully matt-finished case to reduce reflection from the bright sunlight and a modified design of the subdials for better readability by the astronauts. The dial of this Speedy Tuesday watch is in black with white subdials which is also called the ''reversed panda dial''. The subdials have the same design as the original Alaska III Speedmaster and feature superluminova. Underneath the 42mm case is the hand-winding 1861 calibre, an evolution of the legendary 321 movement.
This beautiful Omega Speedy Tuesday "Tribute to Alaska III" with number 1366 comes as a complete set with all accessories such as: black outer box, special brown leather watch roll, a brown leather strap, black white NATO strap -both still unused- , steel Omega pin to change the straps, Omega booklets, microfibre cloth to keep this beauty clean, the original invoice and a 1-year mechanical warranty from 10 over 10.

La Generale Watch Co. the parent company of Omega was founded in 1848 in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland, by 23-year-old Louis Brandt who was busy assembling watches. In 1866, Louis Brandt died and the company was continued by the two sons Louis-Paul and Cesar and they decided to have the assembly done in one place. The brothers made huge strides and In 1894, the brothers launched a new calibre: the famous 19-ligne calibre. The calibre was so accurate and successful that the brothers decided to change their company name to ''Omega Watch Co.'' in 1903. Since 1998, Omega has been owned by the Swatch Group under the name Omega SA.
