Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 15238 (2005)
The Date and Datejust models by Rolex are closely related, as their names suggest. They share the same core design and functionality. The main difference lies in the case size. The Datejust originally featured a 36 mm case, while the Date was only available with a 34 mm case. In the 1990s, the trend of increasingly larger watches began, but fortunately, Rolex was known for its restraint at the time. The smaller 34 mm case of the Date is often considered the ideal size for both men and women.
When choosing a full 18K yellow gold watch, one might typically opt for a Rolex Day-Date. However, if you’re looking for something with a more understated appearance, this more modest 34 mm Rolex Date 15238 might be a better option (as far as a full gold Rolex can be considered ‘modest’). The Rolex Date 15238 was produced from 1988 to approximately 2005. The beautiful example we present here dates from 2005. This watch is truly in excellent condition! It's even more beautiful in person than in the photos, so you really need to see it with your own eyes. Please note that the photos are highly detailed, which may make certain scratches visible that are barely noticeable to the naked eye. The 18K yellow gold case, along with the 18K yellow gold fluted bezel, which offers an amazing sparkle from various angles, is razor-sharp and appears unpolished. The case features all the correct gold stamps.
Another aspect we’re enthusiastic about is that the watch comes with its original, period-correct 18K yellow gold 7205A riveted Oyster bracelet. The production of steel riveted Oyster bracelets ceased in the 1960s, with the last pieces delivered in the US at the end of the 1970s. The gold variants, like this one, were produced for a much longer period. The bracelet shows no stretch for its age. While there are a few minor scratches, they are not at all distracting. We have deliberately chosen to keep the bracelet, which has all the correct stamps, in its original condition.
Let’s continue! The reliable 3135 calibre with quick-set date function has been serviced and makes this watch ideal for everyday use. The watch features a classic champagne dial, striking a perfect balance between vintage and modern.
This stunning and razor-sharp (neo-)vintage Rolex Date 15238 from 2005 is supplied with the original outer box, box, papers, booklets, hangtags, bezel protector, and 1-year mechanical warranty from 10 over 10.

Rolex Date
In the 1950s, Rolex introduced the Oyster Perpetual Date line. In 1945, Rolex had launched the well-known Datejust, the first automatic watch with a date display in a 36 mm waterproof case. Five years later, in 1950, the Oyster Perpetual Date was introduced, featuring a slightly smaller 34 mm case.
