Omega Speedmaster 3570.50 'Tritium Dial'
In 1957, the Omega Speedmaster was introduced. This model was used as a tool watch in various racing environments. The Speedmaster features a chronograph function. It gained fame for being the first watch worn on the moon by NASA astronauts. NASA sought a durable timepiece for the astronauts, and Omega successfully withstood all the rigorous tests conducted between 1964 and 1965. Omega received official certification from NASA, and the entire Apollo 11 crew wore a Speedmaster. Since then, the Speedmaster Professional has become Omega's most renowned watch.
This Omega Speedmaster 3570.50 dates from the year 1996. This is also the year when Omega stopped producing its predecessor, the reference 3590.50. Omega switched from tritium to Luminova and the watch was fitted with the 1499 bracelet. This vintage Speedmaster does still feature a tritium dial and matching hands. This is because Omega still used tritium for two years before the reference 3570.50. Of course, we don't mind this! Look at the beautiful orange discolouration. In addition, the watch is in super condition. The case is razor-sharp, the 1499 bracelet which has some signs of use shows no stretch and the original plexiglass with engraved Omega logo is still present. The 861 movement has been fully serviced. The watch comes with a 1-year mechanical warranty.

Omega
La Generale Watch Co., the parent company of Omega, was founded in 1848 in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland, by 23-year-old Louis Brandt, who was involved in watch assembly. In 1866, Louis Brandt passed away, and the company was continued by his two sons, Louis-Paul and Cesar, who decided to centralize assembly in one location. The brothers made significant advancements, and in 1894, they introduced a new caliber to the market: the renowned 19-ligne caliber. The caliber was so accurate and successful that the brothers decided to change their company name to "Omega Watch Co." in 1903. Since 1998, Omega has been owned by the Swatch Group under the name Omega SA.
