Tudor Submariner 'Snowflake' 94110

The Tudor Submariner reference 94110 was produced from 1968 until the 1980s. This watch was available with either a black or blue dial and featured a quick-set date function. The model earned the nickname 'Snowflake' due to its square hour markers, which resemble a snowflake. This unique hand design was introduced by Rolex/Tudor to enhance readability in low-light conditions. Like the Rolex Submariner, the Tudor Snowflake Submariner boasts a rich history. Interestingly, Tudor supplied these watches to both the U.S. Army and the French Navy (Marine Nationale).

The vintage Tudor Submariner 'Snowflake' 94110 we are offering here dates back to 1981 and is in stunning vintage condition. The original tritium on the dial and matching hands has aged beautifully to a warm yellow hue, adding extra charm to this piece. The watch is fitted with a slightly newer Rolex Oyster bracelet (93150) featuring a DE clasp code from 2001. The bracelet shows minor, acceptable stretch consistent with its age but remains in excellent overall condition. A fantastic combination, if you ask us!

The lume dot on the aluminum bezel glows, indicating that the bezel inlay is slightly newer. The 40mm case is thick and features sharp lugs, preserving all the lines and curves. The Rolex crown is original and period-correct for this model. Additionally, the date wheel is also original and period-correct, identifiable by its silver color. The reliable ETA 2784 movement has been thoroughly checked by our watchmaker and is running perfectly, without requiring a service.

This stunning vintage Tudor Submariner Snowflake 94110 from 1981 comes with a one-year mechanical warranty from 10 over 10 and free insured shipping within the EU.

Tudor

Rolex was founded in 1905 by the renowned German businessman Hans Wilsdorf. In 1926, Rolex introduced the iconic Oyster, the world’s first waterproof watch. That same year, Wilsdorf had another ambitious goal: he wanted to create a watch brand that would be more accessible to a wider audience, while maintaining the same quality and reliability as Rolex.

To achieve this, he tasked Geneva-based merchant Philippe Hüther with establishing the Tudor brand. While Rolex distinguished itself with high-quality in-house movements, Tudor opted for third-party movements, such as those from ETA. This approach allowed Tudor to keep its watches affordable without compromising on reliability.

One of the key factors behind Tudor’s early success was its use of Rolex’s waterproof Oyster case. This gave buyers access to Rolex’s legendary durability at a more attractive price point.
