The Constellation is perhaps one of the most refined models in Omega's collection, offering a wide variety of designs. This model was first introduced by Omega in 1952. The history of the Constellation refers to a star constellation that moves with consistency and predictability, a fitting symbol for the reliability of the timepieces in this series!

This connection is also reflected in the logo of the Constellation series: a depiction of the Geneva Observatory surrounded by eight stars, representing Omega’s greatest chronometric achievements. This iconic logo is often found on the back of the case, with a single star adorning the dial.

The vintage Omega Constellation 168.017 we have here is in good condition. The stainless steel case, also known as the C-shape due to its design, has been well preserved, with all original edges and lines still perfectly visible. The watch features a silver dial that, depending on the lighting, reveals a subtle beige undertone.

Additionally, this vintage Constellation 168.017 is fitted with an Omega "brick bracelet," named after the shape of its links. This adds a sportier look to the watch. The Omega Constellation is powered by the automatic caliber 564, which has recently undergone a service.

Omega

La Generale Watch Company, Omega's parent company, was founded in 1848 in the Swiss city La Chaux de Fonds by 23-year-old Louis Brandt. In 1866, Brandt passed away, leaving his company in the hands of his two sons Louis-Paul and Cesar. The two brothers brought many fresh, innovative ideas to the company, which led to the development of a new caliber in 1894: the famous 19-lignecaliber. This caliber was so precise, and subsequently, succesful, that the brothers decided to change their company name in 1903; the year "Omega Watch Co." was born. Since 1998, Omega is owned by the Swatch Group, under the name Omega SA.
